How To: Declutter your home

Is your home just full of things you don’t use anymore but somehow can’t seem to get rid of ?

I got you! As someone who creates emotional attachments to things , getting rid of them has always been difficult until I started to do these things!

  1. Make a pile of all the items you don’t use anymore in their spaces (a kitchen pile, a clothes pile, etc)

  2. Make a pile of all broken, raggedy and/or worn out items

  3. Take a walk around your home to make sure that everything you collected will not be missed

  4. Start throwing away or donating items like knick knacks, old games, old kitchen items

  5. Follow up with clothing items that don't fit you (DONT KEEP THEM)

  6. Next make sure to throw away any and all expired items around the house (foods, seasonings, makeup, skincare, etc)

After that, you’re all done! Your home should feel more welcoming and clean.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

For years, I have served as a useful source to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our world. I founded Chaotic Mess with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and I have been at it ever since.Take some time to explore the blog, read something interesting, and feel free to reach out if you would like to collaborate.
